Pregnancy has been a wonderful and deeply transformative experience for me. It is such a gift to experience this season, and I don’t take it lightly. I am VERY aware of the extremely common hardships of infertility, and that 1 in 4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. Sometimes, just seeing a post about pregnancy can be a painful trigger for someone. If this is you, I stand by you.
Healthy pregnancies can also be extremely painful and difficult. I have seen people suffer with severe anxiety, become triggered as they watch their body change, and even feel depression during pregnancy as they begin undergoing extreme physiological and emotional changes. Pregnancy can be lonely, overwhelming, and it can feel confusing because “shouldn’t I be happier?” If this is you, I stand by you.
This is where it is very important to understand that sometimes grief and joy can coexist. I am both grateful for my pregnancy journey, and mourning with the pain that this journey has caused to others. If your story of getting pregnant or being pregnant has looked different than mine, I see you and I care. Your story is important and it matters, and YOU are important and you matter.
Love,
